Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 at the Olympic competition. Comaneci was spotted by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was only six years old. She competed at the Romanian Junior Championships and finished 13th. In 1970, she won the title. Three gold medals were awarded in her debut competition in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972, which was a the communist bloc nations. The following year, 1973 as well as 1974, she was the junior all-round champion. The athlete won four golds and one silver medals in her senior debut international competition, held in 1975. It was the first time she competed as a senior. She became the first female to do a reverse double salo with the parallel bar that was uneven after winning the American Cup, New York City 1976. Her career began as an entertainment professional during her teenage years, when she performed as an ice skating duo along with their twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol's first job was in entertainment as a teenager. At the age of 13, Carol began as a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The show featured stage-moving ice-skating shows.
